The roof prism deviates the incident beam through an angle of 90 degrees, whilst interchanging the left right portions of the image, equivalent to a 180-degree rotation about the optical axis.
The Ameci prism is essentially a right-angle prism whose hypotenuse has been replaced by a 90-degree roof.
